Today, I was given a vision. There was a straight road and at the end of the road was Jesus Himself and along the sides of the street was a variety of entertainment. There were neon lights and other decor set in place to capture the attention of the travelers. Now, what possibly could this mean? Hang on, you'll see.
Isn't it interesting to see how Jesus was worshipped in the midst of a Pharisee? (see Luke 7:35-50) Keep in mind that the Pharisees represented a large religious group who were about keeping the law. Because they were self-righteous that opened the door to a judgmental attitude. This type of lifestyle does not portray the characteristics of Jesus. So, why would Jesus willingly go sit down with such a person? I really wanted to know, so I inquired of the Lord who in turn stated that it was important to show what true worship was all about.
When you are a true worshiper, you are not going to be hindered because of your surroundings. Could these hindrances symbolize the entertainment referenced in the opening paragraph? I believe so. If you prefer, call them distractions. These are the neon lights and other decor that cause you to pull over from your journey and observe. Sadly, many people dwell in this place because it's feeding the "soul". This is where our mind, feelings, desires, moods, will, decisions, etc. reside. Too often, this is where man falls and becomes separated from God. By the way, Pharisee means "separate."
As a true worshiper, you will bypass the religious, the spectators, and the negative talkers. You will pass through the distractions (Pharisees) that tend to separate you from God. You will remain steadfast because your eyes are focused on the end of the road where Jesus awaits. What's at stake for you? Is it humiliation? Is it fear of man? As for me, neither applies. I have come to know that it's not about fearing man but reaching a Man!
Let's take a look at the biblical scene again. It's amazing to see how the woman pursued Jesus regardless to what others might have said about her. She was willing to push through these distractions for the purpose of reaching Jesus. It wasn't about dignity but worship! A point to learn here is that your action toward Jesus will display the condition of your heart. Heed the spoken word:
"There are many people who truly love Me but are unable to bypass the distractions on their way to Me. They are willing to listen to the voice of the enemy as well being drawn by the lust of the eyes. They do love Me, but, oh, how easy it is for distractions to overwhelm them. The enemy has met My beloved ones where they are and I see them conversing with him instead of rebuking him. My heart breaks for the love of My people. I called for watchmen to sound the alarm and many did but many didn't. Today, I'm looking for the mature to speak out to a chosen generation with power and demonstration. Come forth and teardown the wall of distraction that's enticing the will of man. My children must continue to pursue Me with a heart that is not divided."

Imagine walking around days, weeks, months, or even years with a large bag of rocks on your back. The bag exceeds your overall weight capacity. It takes every breath and all the might you have to make a single step. Each move appears to be your last. Sweat and anguish are shown upon your brow. "I got it" has become your rally outcry; yet, every step is like sinking deeper in quicksand. Your posture is no longer upright. You find yourself bent over as if you are signifying symptoms of osteoporosis. "Quickly, can someone call the doctor? I believe my bones have decayed from improper nutrients." Truly, your self-diagnosis was correct. The physician confirms the infirmity- "I'm sorry to inform you that due to your lack of proper nutrients during your younger years has developed a common case of osteoporosis in your latter years."
The above statements are for visual purposes only. Is that the way to live a joyful life or is it robbing you of life? I don't believe it meets the standard of the words spoken by our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ- "... I have come that they may have life, and they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10 in its totality tells us the intent of our enemy. Satan's goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to ultimately break you down.
In my mind's eye, I can visualize an assembly line in a manufacturing facility. The line is full of rocks, varying in sizes, on a conveyer belt. At the end of the line, there's a bag to catch the moving rocks. The bag is held up by a support structure which happens to be one of God's children. "More rocks," shouts Satan's crew. As the enemy increased the conveyer speed, more rocks begin to fill the bag quickly. The support structure continues to buckle under pressure until he or she is bent over from the weight.
11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. 12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." 13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. (Luke 13:11-13)
What a word of comfort to find that the woman was made straight. How bad do you want it? How bad do you want to be made straight again or do you want to continue to walk bent over with infirmities in likeness to osteoporosis? Do not allow your circumstances to define you. Cry out to God for help. You have heard what our God can do and your faith should be exploding. Remember, faith comes by hearing; so, you have heard and now shout out to God. Don't worry about who is around you or looking at you. If this is your hold up, then you don't want it bad enough.
35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. 36 And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. 37 So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 38 And he cried out, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him, 41 saying, "What do you want Me to do for you?" He said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight." 42 Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. (Luke 18:35-43)
Despite being warned to keep silent, the blind man shouted that much more. He wanted something and heard that the Restorer was within his midst. It didn't matter what others said, whispered, or tried to do to him; he had made up within his mind- I WILL NOT be passed by. His determination paid out for him. His sight was restored. Peter teaches us that God's word is "spiritual food"; therefore, we have no reason to suffer from lack of spiritual nutrients. It's time to strengthen your bones with the Word of Truth. Jesus said that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Now, that you know, and in the words of my Savior- "YOU ARE LOOSED FROM YOUR INFIRMITY!" I say to you, "be free!"
I challenge you to fasten together every infirmity that is causing a break-down in your health or right standing with God. Cast them away from you. I summon you to decree and declare the word of God that you are loosed from the enemy's entrapments. I release that the word of God will unfold every scheme the adversary has plotted. I pronounce to you that the Light will comprehend the darkness and your vision shall be clearer than noonday and shine forth as the morning. I proclaim that you have regained your posture and you are now lifted up.
Beloved, you are complete and equipped. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
